MSI operates two facilities: Cedar Rapids, Iowa (corporate headquarters) and Greenville, South Carolina. We have fully implemented lean manufacturing processes in both facilities, which enables us to deliver the best possible mold solutions with the shortest possible lead times. Our combined capabilities allow our 90 employees to effectively produce complex small to large molds weighing up to 150,000 pounds.

By putting all the tools needed throughout the mold building process where they’re needed, instead of in just one location, we’re able to optimize our process efficiency and end product quality. 

MSI’s lean manufacturing practices have reduced mold-making errors to almost zero (zero stock machining). This means that products are manufactured specifically to the model and fit correctly, which allows for repeatability. To the customer, this translates into better quality molds, built and delivered with shorter lead times with the value-add of Just-In-Time delivery of every mold you need.
